Thanksgiving!

We did Thanksgiving dinner twice. Wednesday night we got together with Brians family. We were able to have everyone there except Chad and MiRon. Scott and Oksana met Meigan for the first time, and we stuffed ourselves full. We then loaded up in the car and travelled down to Jodie's parents. We were all there on Thanksgiving day for yet another great meal and visiting. Lots of new people for Meigan to meet and she did great! Of course, like all kids, Meigan was attached to Darren and spent most of the afternoon entertaining him.

Meigan did well at Grandma's House and is getting very comfortable with them. Her and Grandma did laps around the house with Meigan holding Grandma's hands. Grandpa decided to let her try out the treadmill, he didn't realize that she would want to do it again and again!

Meigan woke us up at 3am friday (black friday), and so Brian, Jodie, and Meigan hit the stores at 4am. ( Madison and Dalton safely asleep at Grandma's) Most people think we are nuts but we had a great time and got almost everything we went out for.

After a nap and a visit from my awesome friend Luci, the kids dragged us to the children's museum and to see the Christmas lights.

Saturday Madison and Dalton had there annual Christmas Day out with Grandma and Grandpa. Jodie and Meigan took a long nap. Todd and Kim came by with Jill and Darren to meet Meigan. (somehow I don't have a picture) We finished the evening with Indian food......we are addicted and there is no Indian restaurants in our town.

Getting Away With It!

It's been a long time since we have had a baby around here.Well, Meigan gets away with everything! You know those things you would never let the other ones dream of doing. She simply has to smile and we all just laugh. Now, Jodie has figured out that if she lets her play in the kids dishes she gets the kitchen cleaned and it only takes a minute to clean up her mess!

Swimming Lessons

Dalton had his last swimming lesson until the new year. We have been taking swimming at the best place for the past year and a half. On the last day of each session they practice survival skills with life jackets

Naptime!

We are still not sleeping through the night. Some nights are definitely better than others. This afternoon Meigan and Brian finally fell asleep on the couch.

1st Place! Way to go Madison!!!

Madison had her first cheer leading competition this weekend. Her squad took first place! They did GREAT! They had a lot of fun and are starting to think their hard work is going to pay off. They have been practicing at least 3 hours a week since April and that will continue into march, with 5 more competitions.

They fix all of the hair and makeup so that it is exactly the same. They parted Madison's hair on the opposite side, pulled back her bangs, and applied lots of make-up. We had to laugh because we had a hard time recognizing our own daughter!

Thanks also to Grandma R and Katie for making the trek to the competition!

Fun Weekend!

We spent the weekend away at a hotel for Madison's first cheer leading competition. I will also post on that separately. We stayed an extra night and played as a family. We did lots and lots of swimming and eating. Dalton spent most of his swim time practicing treading water for his swim class. He can tread water forever and he must do it for at least 3 minutes to pass the final. Madison loves to swim and enjoyed helping Meigan in the 1 foot deep pool. Meigan liked to be near the water but not in it. We did manage to catch a few shots of her enjoying it but she was not a huge fan.
We took advantage of all the good restaurants we don't have here. The kids first choice was Chuck E Cheese, followed by Madison's request for Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, and Dalton finally made it to Red Lobster for popcorn shrimp. (Dalton has been begging for the past few weeks to go there.) Add in some powdered jelly donuts at the hotel and we were fed for the week.
