Dried Canteloupe

If you haven't tried dried cantaloupe , you need to. This was my first batch. I have since experimented with the thickness and dryness. We like it a little more chewy. Anyway it is dried, is delicious. Move over Mango... cantaloupe might be my new favorite!

More Waterslide Fun!

Bananas

The other day Wal-mart had bananas on sale for 10 cents/lb. I bought 17 bunches of bananas which cost 3 dollars and decided to dehydrate them. 3 days later they are all done. Best part about it is that my kids LOVE them. If you have never had natural banana chips they are delicious. The ones from the store are deep fried and full of additives. Mine taste just like candy.

Smarter than Mom!!!

Tonight my kids kept asking for more treats to eat and it was already past bedtime. I kept telling them no because they had just had BIG cookies. They were asking for smoothies, nutrigrain bars,poptarts, otterpops, etc. I finally gave in and said," If you want some fruit or vegetables go eat that, otherwise have a glass of water....pause... or some milk. "

Dalton seemed satisfied with that and went running into the kitchen. He came right back and said, "Mom, then can't we have a smoothie because its everything you said... a drink, milk and fruit?!!" They won!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

The kids and I spent the last week at my parents. We got to spend time with the cousins swimming, bowling, visiting the zoo, and the childrens museum. Grandma and Grandpa spent countless hours pushing kids in the swing, walking around the block, playing fish, and watching old movies. There was plenty of raspberries, nuts,carrot cake, and ice cream.We had a great time. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera. So, until Heather or Grandma gives me some pictures, I have none to post.

This is also posted on Meilin's blog, but I had to post them here too. For those who don't know Meigan and Meilin are 4 months apart, Meigan being older. We bought these pajamas in the same size and I think they're darling!

Summer Haircuts

The kids all got haircuts today. Madison cut off about 5 inches of her hair, for those who know her, this is unbelievable! Dalton was finally allowed to have Lighting Mcqueen logos shaved and styled with blue hair gel (yes temporary.) And Meigan had her first haircut. Robyn is always so good with my kids!

Waterslide Fun!

It was finally sunny and warm today and we were able to pull out the waterslide. Even Meigan liked the freezing water but then decided the picnic table needed a little cleaning. She is so funny with her cleaning! Hopefully summer arrives here soon and we can enjoy more days on the waterslide and down at the lake!

Happy 60th Birthday, Craig!!!

Brian's Dad celebrated his 60th birthday party with lots of family and friends. Despite the bad weather moving the party indoors, we had a great time. The party was complete with a cake holding 60 candles. Luckily he had 3 grandkids who offered to help blow them all out! Happy Birthday Craig!
