Happy 1st Birthday Meigan!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Meigan! You are an absolute joy to have in our family and we cannot remember life without you here. You bring so much fun, laughter and life to our family. We hope you have a wonderful day!

We had her family party this past weekend when relatives were in town. We opened presents, had a pull string pinata, and plenty of cake and ice-cream. Meigan did not like cake and I did not include her picture showing the response. She did tolerate the chocolate ice-cream. Tolerate, not necessarily like. Tonight we will go out for Chinese food and hopefully find something for her to enjoy.

Heather, Zach, and Ashley come to visit!

Jodie's sister, Heather, and her two kids....Zach and Ashley came to visit for the weekend. All of the kids played and played so well together on their own that we did very little entertaining. Heather and Jodie made it to the 90% off Halloween clearance sale and spent several hours improving their cake decorating skills on Meigan's birthday cake (Sorry Heather.) We had a birthday party for Meigan, and also managed to take the kids to the park and to an indoor inflatable park( Aldon, Adi, and Connie joined us.) Despite the lack of events we took 300 pictures. Here is a few.

Thanks so much for coming to visit us, we had a great time!

Meigan is Walking

Last night Meigan took her first few steps all by herself! She would start with Dad and then walk towards Jodie. It was only about 3 steps but she did it several times. She will stand up by herself in the middle of the room for a few seconds and she walks holding onto people or furniture for some time now. She is getting so strong and almost chubby now (good american food).

Also a few days ago Jodie noticed that Meigan's diaper was still dry in the afternoon, so she sat her on the potty and she went! We were very surprised and maybe we'll have to keep it up, and have her potty trained by the time she is one. On the other hand that sounds like a lot of work as she can't walk real well and can't talk either to let us know when it's time. Well it sounded nice!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween. The night before Halloween we went to Grandma R's church for a Halloween carnival and trick or treat party. The kids had a great time. Meigan especially liked the cookie walk and when Grandma R gave her a hard sugar cookie, Meigan actually put it into her mouth and started to eat it. That is the first time she has tried to feed herself. Of course she got it all over her self but it was worth it. We forgot our camera, so no pics of the party. But it was really well done. Grandma R was in charge of it and she did a great job. The next day on Halloween, Grandma and Grandpa D showed up for a surprise visit. The kids had a great time with them here. We went to a trunk or treat at our church and then the kids went to a few of the neighbors. Our neighborhood was packed with kids, I think they bus them in from all over town. We had 300 pieces of candy and ran out early in the evening. While Grandma and Grandpa D were hear we also went bowling and for ice cream. It rained most of the weekend while they were hear but that didn't matter as they had a great time playing with Meigan and getting to know her!

Meigan was a little witch for Halloween, Madison was Sharpay from High School Musical, and Dalton was both a Chinese Dragon (a costume we brought back from China) and a NASA astranout when it was raining outside.

Happy 6th Birthday Dalton!!!

Today was Dalton's 6th birthday. He thinks he had two birthdays this year because we had his friends party a few week ago before Brian and I left for China. Luckily in those two birthdays he only got 1 year older. After school he got to go to lunch with Mom and Dad and of all things he picked take out hot dogs from the stand at Lowes. Mostly, he wanted to get home and start opening presents! He had plenty of presents from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that he stayed busy all afternoon opening and playing with the gifts. His friend Emma brought him a cake and that was perfect because he chose to go to Cold Stone over a cake. This way, he had both. Thanks! Tonight we had Grandma and Grandpa R over for even more presents and we all went to Cold Stone for dessert. Happy Birthday Dalton...We Love You!

Surprise!!!

So I finally got my car I ordered 3 months ago. It is a 2009 Nissan Maxima. I had to order it from the factory as it is a brand new model and hard to find. I got to pick it up today after work, drove it home, and then left it home. So I will have to wait three weeks now to drive it.=( Anyway gives me something else to look forward to coming home to.

Dalton's 6th Birthday Party

Last thursday we had the "Friends Party" for Dalton's 6th birthday. It was a little early but he is having fun playing it up saying things like....for my real birthday I want.... Having the party early instead of the week of Halloween with jet lag was a great idea.
For the party we went to a brand new place in town. The place is filled with inflatables...bounce houses, obstacle courses, slides, and ball pits. The kids loved it! We took time for pizza, cake, presents and then played some more. Happy Pre-6th Birthday Dalton!
